Sailing Dates:

Viking Prestige

The 2011 sailing season welcomed our newest ship in Europe, Viking Prestige, building upon the standard set by the extraordinary Viking Legend that launched in 2009. Viking Prestige carries 188 guests on some of our most popular itineraries. Each of these state-of-the-art vessels has two 340-square-foot suites and 97 staterooms, with French Balcony staterooms on the upper and middle decks and standard staterooms with picture windows on the main deck. Best of all, Viking Prestige is a "green" ship, running on hybrid diesel-electric engines that produce less vibrations for a smoother ride. Cutting-edge design, unmatched comfort and environmentally conscious-Viking Prestige has it all.

Cultural Highlights

To complement your onshore excursions, take part in Viking's Cultural Highlights-immersive learning and enhancement activities both on board and ashore:

  • Traditional performances of folk music and dance, or waltzes by Strauss
  • Tastings of local cheeses, coffees, liqueurs and other delicacies

These in-depth experiences are included as an essential part of discovering more about the places through which you cruise, and each activity is planned specifically to illuminate each itinerary.

Sometimes you want to dig a little deeper. We offer a series of onboard multimedia talks to shed light on the history and culture of the places you visit. Learn about:

  • Castles along the Rhine Valley
  • The formation of the European Union
  • The life and works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
